Health

Rajmathayi village’s health condition was below optimum level . The health is not considered as a public good and and government delivery is weak. The common diseases were malaria, dengue, cold, cough, fever, diahrooeha , measles , fluorosis, arthritis , anaemia in women , etc. On infrastructure side, the village has one sub health center(SHC) but no Primary health centre (PHC). The SHC provides Sugar testing, Blood pressure testing, Weight, Height, Haemoglobin testing facilities, referral facilities. In sub health centre, no fees is charged. Apart from SHC, there was one small private clinic, few pharmacy stores etc. The auxiliary nurse midwife was the only government health personnel present in village. The post of compounder is vacant since 7-8 years. However, there is a private doctor present, who provides basic or emergency health services to villagers . Nearest PHC is 20 km away. The lack of PHC in village, creates lot of issue related to primary health care, child delivery and tackling communicable diseases . The well-off section of villages goes to Pokhran or Jodhpur for availing health facility. The spread of communicable diseases like malaria or dengue, was due to growth of mosquito during rainy season. The warm weather and stagnation of waters also leads to explosion of mosquito. Immunisation programme coverage was high upto 90 %, as told by ANM. The coverage for various vaccines are as follows; measles-103 %, BCG - 63 %, Hepetitis B - 83% , Rotavirus - 77%, DPT Booster -54 % . The Covid vaccine 1st dose coverage was also around 80 %. The covid vaccination for children above 15 years has also started in the village. For Family planning various methods are being used such as contraceptive, female sterilisation , Antara injection, Chhaya oral contraceptive etc. However , due to patriarchy, families have tendency to have at least two male children . This sometimes lead to too many children creating problem in population control.
